The TA1 stud has always been based around a nucleus of a few top UK studs, and although over the years some lines have been realigned to more current breeders, a quality pedigree has always been throughout the stud.

Although the TA1 stud is split across three aviaries, a core family of normals is common within each which were originally based around Huxley & Marchant and Bowker birds but more recently around Harry Hockaday, Maarten Haylen and Geoff Bowley.

In addition to this main line each of the three members of the partnership have established additional lines of some of the lesser varieties.

Normal Line
Pedigree = Maarten Haylen / Hockaday / G Bowley

Picture
Originally the main line going through the entire TA1 stud is based around a combination of Huxley & Marchant and RW&J Bowker birds.
However in recent years this has been mixed with birds from Geoff Bowley and Maarten Haylen to raise them to the quality they are today

Predominantly this family consists of Normals in all colours but also includes a number of Dominant Pieds and Spangles as well as a good quantity of quality Yellowfaces.

As would be expected this family is now very well established and has continued to win major specials and a large number of challenge certificates on the show bench over recent years.

Spangle Line
Pedigree = Huxley & Marchant

Picture
In recent years Adrian's spangle line has gone from strength to strength cumulating with a double factor hen winning best in show as a young bird in 2017.

This line originated from a Spangle green cock bought in from Jerry Donovan but now is predominantly based on two birds from Chris Huxley, a 2009 Normal Grey  and a 2015 Spangle Grey

Trevor's Cinnamon Line
Pedigree = Hockaday

Picture
As the Main Normal Line has evolved in recent years Trevor has successfully combined this into a family of cinnamons which go back to a Normal Cinnamon Sky Blue Cock of Mick Freakley's but more recently Harry Hockaday.

This line, which is mainly in the blue series, has done exceptionally well on the show bench producing colour champions consistently since 2013

Adrian's Cinnamon Line
Pedigree = Freakley / McKenzie / Dobson

Picture
In the early 2000's this Cinnamon Line, which is mainly in the green series, was the most successful family within the TA1 stud with it peaking at the 2005 BS Club Show winning both Opaline Cinnamon A/A and Normal Cinnamon Y/B Challenge Certificates.

This line goes back initially to the stud of Derrick Dobson which was mixed into a stud of really buff cinnamons acquired from a beginner in the North East. This combination produced a very solid family of cinnamons which when mixed into a Cinnamon Sky Blue hen from the Freakley based line at Trevor's resulted in a number of winners.

Unfortunately a number of poor breeding seasons in 2006 and 2007 set this line backwards and with the inability to bring in any related outcrosses this line has all but died out now.

However in 2014 Adrian integrated a small family of Lacewings into this line following obtaining a few from Ricky Watts and has resulted in the first TA1 Lacewings being bred in 2015.

Dilute Line
Pedigree = TA1

Picture
Adrian has been developing a family of dilutes with his partner Emma for a number of years now resulting in a colour champion being bred in 2012, Oakley's Golden Duke, and a number of AOC Challenge Certificates being won each year since.
In addition, in 2014 a Normal Grey Split Hen went on to win Best Breeder in Show at Norwich & Norfolk BS Open Show.

The Dilutes all originate from an Opaline Blue White Hen which was bred unexpectedly by Trevor from a cock bird of Mick Freakley's.

This bird was paired into the existing TA1 families including Adrian's Cinnamon Line - resulting in Oakley's Golden Duke - and integrating into a Dominant Pied Family Adrian had also been establishing.

Recessive Pied Line
Pedigree = Maarten Haylen / Barry Matthews

Picture
In 2013 Adrian's partner Emma started a new line of Recessive Pieds after purchasing a few from Allan Michael and a few which were rung by Paul and Nikki Stannard.

This line is with out doubt the line which is progressing the fastest  after being bolstered with outcrosses from Barry Matthews and Maarten Haylen and is consistently winning a large number challenge certificates each year since the first in 2014.

The line has progressed so well in quality that it is now producing recessive pieds which are going on to win major awards at open shows with it being considered as one of the best studs of recessive pieds in the country.

'ino Lines
Pedigree = Bowley / Maarten Haylen

Picture
Throughout the history of the TA1 stud there have always been a line of Red Eyes running. When the partnership was first formed a number of Lutino's were acquired but were soon sold to enable the then small stud to focus on more normal varieties.
However a few years later when Terry expanded with his own aviary he established a very successful family of Lutino's which won a number of CC's over a couple of years. However as with the previous family Terry decided to change his focus to growing the TA1 normal line and now there are no Lutino's within the TA1 stud.

However Trevor has started to establish a small family of Albino's which are based on the successful Albino's of Geoff Bowley.
