2016 Norway Young Stock Show
In June 2016 Adrian, followed Trevor's footsteps by judging a young stock show in Haugesund, West Norway.
Following great hospitality on the prior evening, the show started with the judging of the colour budgerigars followed by the judging of the Derby classes in the B section. These were 2015 rung birds with a Suffused Yellow cock taking first place. Next came the 2016 Young Stock in the B section, with a Normal Cinnamon Grey taking the top award before the process was repeated for the A section. There were some very nice birds on show with the major winners being a Lacewing Yellow cock getting best in the A section with a Grey Green Hen getting the top hen. In the Derby Class, a very stylish Normal Grey cock was the winner. Adrian would like to thank all of the club members, not only for the honour of being invited to judge this event but also for the outstanding hospitality during the entire weekend and look forward to meeting up again in the future. |

2015 BAA Grand National
In October 2015 Adrian and Trevor were delighted to accept an invitation to judge the Budgerigar Association of America's Grand National Show in Plano, Texas.
The event started with a seminar from the partnership where an overview of the TA1 set up and family lines was presented as well as a history of the development of the UK Budgerigar. This was followed by a traditional Chuck Wagon Dinner at Southfork Ranch - the home of the Dallas TV Show. The following day was the main event with the Open Show and Presentation Dinner. The show procedures were significantly different from that in the UK but once the differences were understood the show ran very smoothly with some top quality birds on display. We would like to thank all of the BAA members, not only for the honour of judging this event but also for the fantastic help and hospitality we were given during the entire weekend and we look forward to meeting up again in the future. |
